Jacqui Church JP
Councillor - Waikato District Council
Standing for Mayor in the Local Government 2022 Elections
and for the Ward of Tuakau Pokeno
Kia ora, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is Jacqui Church and I am a 3rd term Waikato District Councillor for Pokeno, Tuakau, and the rural areas bordering Auckland. I live beside the Awa at Port Waikato with my husband, and am a business owner and Mum to two adult children.
A Councillor since 2013, I'm approachable, genuine and reliable. I deliver positive outcomes through fair, commonsense and proactive leadership. I stand resolute by my people-based values and honesty in governance, and am a committed community supporter, advocate and volunteer.
The local government elections are this year, and I am standing for the position of Mayor for our Council.
Like yourself, I am deeply committed to the success of our Waikato — our rural towns, communities, and countryside. I am passionate about empowering our Waikato communities to thrive through sustainable economic, social and cultural development.
The Waikato is the heart of the golden triangle of New Zealand. Here, opportunities abound for economic and social progression within an innovative, environmentally sustainable landscape where we use our partnerships to succeed. I'm committed to maximising these opportunities whilst enriching our lifestyles, farms and businesses.
One of my top priorities will be to empower Council to focus on achieving its deliverables to a high quality. You deserve fair and sustainable rates, and high-quality, cost-effective and fit-for-purpose infrastructure and services. I will ensure Council delivers these efficiently and transparently, on time and on budget. I will focus on prudent financial management and equitable, high-quality infrastructure for everyone.
I sincerely acknowledge you, your time, your expertise, your valuable voice that you share on behalf of your community, and especially your actions for change and progress. I am committed to amplifying your voice in Council and working alongside you to ensure your views are represented and heard.
I would be honoured if you would consider supporting me as I stand for Mayor.
Effective and transparent communication is foundational to how I operate. I welcome your questions, concerns, opinions and suggestions for collaboration. I would love to hear what you think we can do together to create better outcomes for our Waikato.
I very much look forward to getting to know you and working with you.
Together, let's create a more prosperous, inclusive and robust Waikato.
Always the very best to you,
Jacqui Church
